Prasad Corporation proudly undertook the complete 8K digitization and 4K restoration of this 1989 epic, ensuring its continued legacy for future generations of cinephiles.
Winner of four National Awards and celebrated for its nuanced retelling of Northern Ballads, the film’s restoration demanded precision and cultural sensitivity. Our Chennai and Mumbai facilities collaborated to deliver:
🔹 8K High-Resolution Film Scanning: Utilizing high-end film scanners, every frame was captured at 8K to future-proof the archive and retain the film’s finest details, especially critical in preserving the textures of its rich period visuals.
🔹 4K Digital Restoration & Grading: Undertaken in 4K, the restoration process included meticulous removal of dust, scratches, flicker, and other age-related degradation. Color grading balanced historical authenticity with visual clarity, calibrated for both theatrical and digital projection.
🔹 Sound Enhancement & Mastering: The audio was also enhanced with 5.1 surround mastering, creating an immersive sonic environment that does justice to the film’s dramatic score and dialogues.
This effort was not just a technical achievement but a cultural responsibility—ensuring that iconic performances by Mammootty, Madhavi, and Captain Raju, along with the visionary direction of Hariharan and screenplay by M.T. Vasudevan Nair, can be experienced in their full cinematic splendor.
