On 26th April 2025, the L.V. Prasad College of Media Studies hosted an engaging online session titled “Frames of Imagination: The Aesthetics of Storyboarding for Film & Media.” Conducted live on Zoom, the event drew an overwhelming response with 95+ students participating from across India.
The interactive session was led by Mr. A.Z. Ranjit, Professor in Fine Arts & Painting, and Visiting Faculty at L.V. Prasad College of Media Studies. A recipient of the prestigious Central Lalitkala Academy Award (2000) and a Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture & Tourism, Mr. Ranjit is celebrated for his remarkable contributions to fine arts, including exhibition displays and designs in galleries of both national and global repute.
What made the session truly special was Mr. Ranjit’s live painting demonstration, where he not only showcased his artistic mastery but also walked students through the finer details of storyboarding. With great clarity, he explained how storyboarding serves as a bridge between imagination and execution, turning ideas into visual narratives that guide the filmmaking process.
Students enthusiastically interacted with him, raising questions and seeking insights into new techniques and creative practices. Mr. Ranjit’s approachable style and deep knowledge inspired participants, leaving them with a renewed perspective on the role of fine arts in cinema and media storytelling.
The session was smoothly curated by Mr. Ravichandar Gopal Rao, Business Head of L.V. Prasad College of Media Studies. Adding to the success behind the scenes were Mr. Sathish (Digital Marketing Manager) and Mr. Sasi Kumar (SEO Executive), who handled technical support and digital outreach.
