Umrao Jaan Restored Under NFHM
Muzaffar Ali’s Umrao Jaan (1981), featuring Rekha, was restored in 4K under the National Film Heritage Mission by NFDC–NFAI, with Prasad leading the restoration. Supervised by the director himself, the project gained international recognition, including coverage in Variety. The restored classic returned to theatres on June 27, 2025, as part of PVR INOX’s Timeless Classics initiative.
