Dear Prasad family,

It is good to re-connect. Your favourite newsletter is back in a new avatar after a break. This issue will be a catch up of the year gone by, while the next ones will focus on quarterly updates and happenings.

This newsletter is happening at an interesting growth phase for Prasad. Prasad is proud to be associated with two of the largest Film Restoration and Analog Preservation and Preventive Conservation projects initiated by the National Film Heritage Mission for the Government of India. These projects help raise the stature of Prasad as one of the largest heritage preservation service providers.

While the Indian Government recognises our contribution to heritage preservation, we have also been recognised for our film restoration by the festivals of Cannes on a global stage! Recently our work on the great Aribam Syam Sharma’s 1990 film Ishanou was screened at the Cannes Classic Selection 2023 while Aravindan Govindan’s 1978 film Thamp was screened in 2022. We’re immensely honoured, and humbled!

At the same time Prasad is expanding into Europe through the acquisition of OMNIMAGO, Germany’s foremost media post-production company. This coming together enriches and widens the service portfolio and gives all of our customers across verticals access to a wider and unparalleled array of services.

Following the vision of our founder Shri L V Prasad, our College of Media Studies celebrated its 16th Post Graduate Diploma Convocation – 2023. We were delighted to have the remarkable Indian cinematographer and filmmaker Mr. Ravi Varman (Cinematographer of Ponniyin Selvan 1 & 2, Barfi, Mission Mangal, etc.) as our Chief Guest.

We hope you enjoy the read.

– Jaya Vasant
