We are motivated by the tremendous strides our team has taken in establishing 8K as a cutting-edge service offering in the Indian market. Worldwide, 8K has not become mainstream yet. But in India, we strongly believed that we could crack this puzzle.
The original narrative of “get ready for 8K as 8K is around the corner” has undergone a remarkable transformation in the past 24 months. After numerous hours of brainstorming and discussions with customers, the focus shifted from “monetization around the corner” to “preservation for posterity.” The new narrative centers around “preserving precious/old/deteriorating content in the highest resolution possible.” This new approach positions 8K+ as the ideal solution for prospects, providing them both a 4K (+) and an 8K at an unbeatable price. We relentlessly hammered this narrative in sales conversations and marketing messages, and slowly but surely, it began to gain traction in prospects’ minds.
It was just not about taking this service to market but a major operation struggle to scan at 8K. We faced technical issues, film compatibility issues, challenges relating to scanning speed, and data storage. The Prasad team had to constantly innovate and bring in several improvements to the hardware and software to optimize performance.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Prasad team in warming up the global market for 8K, the demand for this technology is gradually but surely increasing. We have digitised 42 films so far in 8K, of which 2 were for a Japanese Broadcaster. Our 8K story is a true Preservation Success Story, and we believe it is destined for even greater heights.
