Dear Prasad family,

We are delighted to present the 4th edition of CONNECT, Prasad’s eNewsletter, capturing key highlights from across all our entities. This edition covers the quarter of October–December 2024.

First and foremost, a huge congratulations to the Prasad Pune team for their remarkable efforts in the chemical restoration and preservation of 65,000 film reels for NFDC-NFAI. This massive project has been a resounding success and is now nearing completion. Kudos to the entire team!

In this edition, don’t miss Abhishek Prasad, our Chief Technology Officer, featured in The Hindu, where he discusses the rising trend of film re-releases and how Prasad’s cutting-edge technology is helping legacy content owners preserve and monetize their films for the modern era.

As the world celebrates the birth centenary of Raj Kapoor, his timeless classics return to the big screen—restored to perfection. Prasad is proud to have played a pivotal role in this grand tribute, meticulously restoring eight iconic RK Films, including Awara, Mera Naam Joker, Sangam, and more, as part of NFDC-NFAI’s National Film Heritage Mission.

A significant leadership change at OMNIMAGO: After an incredible 25 years at the helm, Peter Fries has retired, passing the torch to Michael Dienes, who assumed the role of Managing Director on January 1, 2025. Let’s extend our best wishes to Michael as he takes on this new chapter! We also would like to wish Mr. Fries all the best for his future.

This edition also brings exciting updates from our US operations, including the restoration of the beloved classic The Sound of Music (1965) and other prestigious projects.

Meanwhile, L V Prasad College of Media Studies continues to inspire the next generation of filmmakers with symposiums and workshops featuring some of the most successful new-age Tamil cinema directors—an incredible opportunity for our students.

And finally, take a moment to browse through our photo gallery, capturing vibrant employee activities and internal celebrations. You might just spot yourself!

We truly enjoy curating these moments for you and hope you find them just as engaging. Happy reading!
