As India’s National Film Heritage Mission (NFHM) reaches a major milestone, Prasad Corporation is proud to play a pivotal role in restoring and preserving the country’s cinematic treasures. Featured in The Indian Express, the mission has seen 64,000 reels conserved and over 500 iconic films meticulously restored, bringing back legendary films such as Kaliya Mardan (1919), Devadasu (1953), and Hum Dono (1961) in stunning clarity.
At Prasad Corporation, we are honoured to contribute to this historic initiative with our expertise in film preservation, restoration, and digitization. Our cutting-edge processes—encompassing 4K/8K scanning, colour grading, restoration, mastering, and QC—ensure that these classic films are not only preserved but also elevated to meet modern viewing standards. This has enabled restored Indian films to be showcased at prestigious festivals like Cannes, TIFF, and Venice, putting India’s rich film legacy on the global stage.
This November, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa provided cinephiles a glimpse into this remarkable restoration effort, as select classics from the NFHM were screened to enthusiastic audiences.
As the NFHM continues its ambitious journey, Prasad Corporation remains a committed partner in safeguarding India’s cinematic heritage, ensuring that these timeless stories continue to inspire and captivate audiences for generations to come.
