Chennai, December 2024 – A three-day intensive workshop on Music Video Production for PG Diploma students concluded successfully on December 11, 2024. The event, held from December 9th to 11th, was guided by renowned South Indian choreographer and independent artist Mr. Karthick Gandhi and acclaimed cinematographer Mr. S.K. Boopathy, Head of Cinematography at L V Prasad College of Media Studies.
The workshop provided students with hands-on experience in the various stages of music video production. Students were selected an existing Hindi song of 1 minute and 30 seconds duration, featuring two professional male and female models were hired to play the lead roles in the video with two costume changes
On the first day, students focused on song selection, pre-production planning, storyboard creation, shot division, and the development of shooting scripts. The second day was dedicated to the production process, presenting a significant challenge as the team worked from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, requiring meticulous planning and coordination. Under the expert guidance of Mr. S.K. Boopathy, cinematography students efficiently handled lighting and camera work in complex conditions, ensuring a smooth shoot.
The final day was dedicated to post-production, with editing students assisting in compiling and refining the footage. A preview session was held, followed by an insightful discussion on the final output. The students played an active role in all aspects, including planning, budgeting, production logistics, and execution, gaining valuable industry exposure.
The workshop concluded with a successful final cut, showcasing the students’ dedication and skills, marking a significant milestone in their media education journey.
